Dr. Minhas Mahsud is an inspiring example of resilience, leadership and the power of education to transform lives. She is a Lecturer at Ulster University Business School and Chair of the Continuing Personal and Professional Development Working Group within the BAME Network. Dr. Mahsud’s research and leadership continue to shape conversations around equity, diversity and educational empowerment in both the UK and internationally.
Originally from Pakistan, Dr. Mahsud’s academic journey reflects both intellectual merit and remarkable personal resilience. Securing the prestigious Chinese Government Scholarship, she completed her doctorate in Business Management at Beihang University in Beijing, where her research focused on organizational behaviour and leadership in diverse contexts. Her time in China also saw her stepping into leadership roles, most notably through her work with the university International Office and her contribution to the World Economic Forum—where she engaged with global thought leaders on issues of education, equity and youth leadership.
As an academic, Dr. Mahsud brings a strong research profile focused on management education, leadership development, and the advancement of underrepresented groups in business and academia. Her ongoing research and teaching at Ulster University address critical themes such as inclusive leadership, organizational citizenship, and the professional development of marginalized communities.
Beyond her research, Dr. Mahsud’s professional activities reflect her sustained commitment to social mobility and educational access for disadvantaged women—especially those from backgrounds similar to her own. As a Board Director for the Belfast Asian Women’s Academy, she mentors women from minority and migrant communities, equipping them with the skills and confidence to pursue education and leadership roles. She holds a Disability Positive accreditation and is an active member of Keep Northern Ireland Beautiful, reflecting her holistic commitment to social and environmental sustainability.
Dr. Mahsud’s lived experience of overcoming socio-economic barriers has been central to her role as an academic mentor and community leader.
