Background
Prof. Dr. Farhat Safdar is a distinguished academic and higher education leader with more than two decades of teaching, research, and administrative experience. She currently serves as Professor of Mathematics at Sardar Bahadur Khan (SBK) Women University, Quetta, and is an HEC-approved PhD supervisor. Her research focuses on Pure Mathematics, Numerical Computing, and Integral Inequalities, with over 35 publications in reputed HEC-recognized journals. Beyond her scholarly work, Dr. Safdar has played a transformative role in academic leadership, having served as Acting Registrar, Dean of the Faculty of Basic Sciences, Director HR, and Chairperson of the Department of Mathematics at SBKWU. She has successfully supervised numerous postgraduate theses and remains dedicated to nurturing the next generation of mathematicians and researchers. Dr. Safdar is actively engaged in advancing gender equality and institutional development, working as a focal person for international collaborations such as the British Council’s PIE (Partnership in Equality) for UK–Pakistan Women in Robotics and AI and USAID’s Higher Education System Strengthening Activity (HESSA). With her strong background in governance, academic innovation, and international networking, she continues to contribute to strengthening higher education in Pakistan while championing opportunities for women and underrepresented groups in mathematics and STEM fields.
